A reefer earns more and costs more to keep honest. A dry van asks less of you and pays accordingly. Which one belongs behind your truck is a question about your lanes, not about the trailer.

is part of the trailer.
A trailer is worth what you know about it. Everything below is handed over, not offered as an upgrade.
Service record
What has been done to the body, the doors and — on a reefer — the refrigeration unit, written down and handed over with the keys.
Checked before handover
Doors, seals, floor and lights on every unit; on a reefer, the unit is run down to temperature so you can watch it hold before you sign.
Insurance sorted first
The certificate of insurance is walked through with you before anything moves. It is the step that delays most deals and the one people skip.
A route to ownership
Trailers go on the lease-to-own road as readily as trucks. If the goal is a title rather than a monthly line item, say so on the first call.
Ask what is on the lot.
Inventory changes weekly and terms follow the unit. One call gets you both, in the language you would rather negotiate in.
